- Mohammed Shamsul Alam is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Apparel Manufacture and Technology (AMT) who has been serving at Sonargaon University for about 12 years, joining on 16 November 2014 as a Senior Academic Executive. He was promoted to Assistant Registrar on 1 October 2016 and Deputy Registrar on 1 November 2018, and served as Head of the Student Welfare Division and Student Advisor from 1 October 2017 to 8 August 2020. On 9 August 2020 he was appointed Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the AMT, FDT, MAM & MTFM programs, a coordinatorship he held until 26 June 2026; he currently serves as Assistant Professor across the AMT, FDT, MAM, MAMS & MTFM programs. Mr. Alam completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Derby, UK in 2005. Before joining Sonargaon University, he worked at the Institute of Science, Trade & Technology (ISTT) for more than 7 years as Assistant Professor & Coordinator of the School of Textile & Fashion Management, overseeing the Diploma in Textile Engineering, Diploma in GDPM, BSc (Hons) in AMT, KMT & FDT, and MBA in Apparel Merchandising programs. His research interests focus on decision-making processes, the washing impact on jeans, apparel buying behavior of teenagers, trend forecasting and its impact on the RMG sector, micro-seasonal fashion impact on the RMG sector, 3D virtual pattern and simulation, and waste management.
