On Thursday, February 20, 2025, Sonargaon University (SU) hosted a vibrant Freshers’ Reception at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) Auditorium in Dhaka to welcome around 1,500 newly enrolled students for the 2024–25 academic session. Presided over by Vice-Chancellor Professor Shamim Ara Hassan, the grand event featured Professor Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossen, Member of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest alongside Special Guest Azizul Bari (Sheepu). In their addresses, the distinguished guests emphasized academic excellence, ethical values, and social responsibility, encouraging the fresh batch of students to leverage university resources and embrace innovation for their holistic growth.
